Clinical Nutrition & Diet Therapy
Diet is assessed and modified according to the individual’s needs and the health condition treated. Weight and detoxification can be assessed. Chelation Therapy
Chelation therapy is the administration of specific agents to remove heavy metals from the body. Our clinic provides chelation therapy for patients who have diagnosed heavy metal intoxication. Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon hydrotherapy is an effective treatment for detoxification and restoring regular bowel function. The treatment involves flushing the colon with sterilized water to remove accumulated toxins from the body and stimulate normal bowel activity. Detoxification
Through the use of herbs, vitamins, minerals, foods, and colon hydrotherapy, the body is cleansed of many toxins that contribute to a myriad of diseases and health complaints. Chelation & IV Therapy may be prescribed if heavy metals (such as lead & mercury) contribute to the body’s health burden. In addition, education around cleaning up the home environment with plants, special filters, and hypoallergenic cleaning materials & home materials is provided. Naturopathy & Family Medicine
As primary care practitioners, Naturopathic physicians perform routine physical exams as a screening process in preventative medical care. Routine exams help screen for risk factors and may include both conventional and specialty testing. A full physical exam, is recommended yearly.
Women’s Health Services
Our doctors provide routine pap and breast exams for women. Frequency of pap exams depends on your gynecological history, which you can discuss with one of the Village Health Clinic physicians.
Reproductive health including infertility & pre-conception care, menstrual problems (PMS, irregular / painful periods), Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Fibrocystic Breast Disease, fibroids, menopause, osteoporosis & cardiovascular risk screening can be addressed by our doctors.
Men's Health Services
Screening for specific male health issues, especially prostate health and cardiovascular disease is important at any age, but risk factors increase over 35 years. Routine exams are effective in prevention and early diagnosis.
Our physicians also address reproductive and fertility concerns, as well as supporting diagnosed infertility issues. Naturopathic Medicine is also effective in treating common digestive complaints, allergies, skin conditions, fatigue, chronic pain, sports injuries and infections.
Children's Health Services
Care for your newborn can be trasnferred to a Village Health Clinic physician for follow-up care, which includes scheduled Well-Baby Exams. In addition, any newborn concerns such as acute infections (ear, respiratory, thrush), umbilical cord infections, breastfeeding problems, colic, vomiting, etc, can be treated by one of our physicians.
Well-Baby/Child Exams
which monitors the growth and development of your child is routinely scheduled at every 3 months from 6 weeks until 2 years of age. Vital statistics, dietary intake, gross and fine motor skills, and mental-cognitive development are checked for optimum health. Discussions around breastfeeding and food introduction focus on allergy prevention as well as optimal caloric nutrient intake. Special diets such as vegetarian and vegan diets can be assessed & modified to meet the needs of your growing child.
Homeopathic Immunization options, education
and information is available for parents who are concerned about and are looking for alternatives to vaccinations. Immune-boosting protocols are also available to enhance the beneficial effects of either type of immunization. Education about vaccinations can occur during visits so that parents may make informed decisions regarding immunization – whether pharmaceutical or homeopathic. Massage Therapy
Massage therapy treatment both acute and chronic injuries, arthritis, headaches, muscular pain and detoxification of tissues. Massage therapy is also helpful in reducing anxiety, depression, insomnia and stress, utilizing Swedish techniques, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, stretching, hydrotherapy, homecare techniques, and patient education. Our registered therapist also offers specialized pre- and post-natal massage.

Midwifery
Midwifery in British Columbia is primary maternity care – from the first prenatal visit until six weeks postpartum. Midwives attend to the needs of women during normal pregnancy and birth, in both a home or hospital setting, providing the majority of health care needs in pregnancy & birth. Midwives are licensed to order laboratory tests and prescribe medications pertinent to maternity care.
Midwifery services are fully covered by the Medical Services Plan.

Prolotherapy

Sports & Physical Medicine
Hydrotherapy (water therapy), colon hydrotherapy, orthopedic exams, functional exercises, and spinal/cervical manipulations may be prescribed for treatment in Sports Medicine.
